Christians Must Be Holy and Perfect

Matthew 5:48
King James Version
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect
The most direct verse describing God's law as holy is Romans 7:12, which states, "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good". Other verses that affirm the sanctity and divine nature of God's law include Matthew 5:17-20, where Jesus affirms He came to fulfill the law rather than abolish it, and Psalm 119's repeated emphasis on the perfection and value of God's decrees.
Key Verses
Romans 7:12: "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good". This verse, found in the New Testament, directly declares the inherent holiness of the divine law.
Matthew 5:17-20: Jesus states, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill". This passage highlights that the law remains valid and ultimately fulfilled through Christ's life and teachings.
Psalm 119: The entire Psalm praises God's law as perfect, true, and a source of life and wisdom, emphasizing its holy nature by describing its righteousness and goodness.
The Nature of God's Law
Divine Origin: God's law is holy because it reflects His divine character, His justice, mercy, and wisdom.
Purpose: The law was given for the good of God's people and serves to reveal God's will and character.
Perfection: The law is described as righteous, just, and good, indicating its perfect nature as a guide for human behavior.

New Testament book of 1 Peter uses this phrase to summarize the command found in the Old Testament book of Leviticus.
1 Peter 1:15–16 (KJV)
"But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy".
This command is also present in several passages in Leviticus, such as Leviticus 11:44, Leviticus 19:2, and Leviticus 20:7. The meaning of the phrase "be ye holy" is a command for believers to be set apart and dedicated to God, striving for moral and spiritual purity that reflects God's nature, as stated in "for I am holy

1 John 3:4 KJV
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

In conclusion by obeying God's law we become holy and perfect and receive the Holy Spirit within  us.

Acts 5:32 KJV
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Stephen's Death

Understanding Matthew 16:25 In the King James Version of the Bible, Matthew 16:25 beautifully encapsulates a powerful spiritual paradox: "For whoever seeks to save their life will lose it; but whoever loses their life for my sake will find it." It's a thought-provoking reminder that sometimes, in the quest for self-preservation and comfort, we might actually miss out on the deeper, more profound life that comes from surrendering ourselves for a greater purpose. The Heartwrenching Death of Stephen Now, if we shift gears a bit and dive into Acts 7:58-60, we find ourselves facing one of the most intense moments in the early Christian church – the execution of Stephen. Stephen wasn’t just your average believer; he was one of the very first deacons appointed to help with the needs of the early church. People recognized him for his incredible faith, wisdom, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in his life. Unfortunately, this great calling came at a high price. God's Hol...

cubierta de cabeza

1 Corintios 11:4-13 RV 1909 4.
