How Elias Prayer for Drought Illustrates God's Sovereignty

Elias prayed for no rain as a divinely orchestrated judgment against Israel's idolatry, particularly their worship of Baal, the god of rain. By causing a drought, he demonstrated that God, not Baal, controlled the weather and had the power to provide or withhold the rain necessary for crops and life. This served as a corrective measure to turn the Israelites back to the true God, Jehova.

✅ Please note: Elijah and Elias refer to the same individual, as Elias is simply the Greek adaptation of the Hebrew name Elijah. In many Bible translations, when "Elias" appears in the New Testament, it’s specifically talking about the ancient prophet Elijah.
