cubierta de cabeza

1 Corintios 11:4-13 RV 1909 4.

The Head Covering

1 Corinthians 11:4-13 King James Version 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. 10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. 12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. 13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a wo...

God Warns Us of False Prophets

In the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, "false prophets" are those individuals spreading misleading teachings that can confuse people about their faith. They often have a sketchy vibe, aiming to divert others from truly understanding God’s word. While they might come off as friendly and trustworthy—like fluffy sheep in a field—if you look closer, you see they're more like hungry wolves hiding in the shadows, ready to pounce with their sneaky messages.  For instance, in Matthew 7:15, Jesus warns us to stay alert and be cautious of these kinds of folks. He points out that although they might dress up as sheep, their true intentions are anything but innocent. It’s quite a vivid image, right? It shows that false prophets don’t just blatantly announce their plans to mislead; instead, they blend in, making it tough for unsuspecting believers to figure out what they’re really about. Typically, these individuals aren’t sent by God; they follow their own whims while preten...

Spirit of Truth, Spirit of Light (A Hymn from 1 John 4:5–6

By Ralph Gilbert De Jesus  They speak from the world, its echo they bear,   Their voices resound in the worldly air.   But hearts that are tuned to the heavenly chord   Will turn from the noise and cleave to the Lord. We are of God, in His mercy we stand,   He calls us to walk by His guiding hand.   The soul that knows Him will hear and rejoice,   Responding in love to the Shepherd’s voice. Yet those who are not of His holy flame   Will turn from the truth and shun His name.   So here we discern, with wisdom made clear,   The spirit of truth and the voice we must fear. O Spirit of Truth, shine bright in our soul,   Correct us, direct us, and make us whole.   Let error be silenced, let falsehoods fall,   As we follow the One who has called us all.

The Armor of God: A Deeper Understanding

In the King James Version of the Bible, Ephesians 6:17 powerfully states, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." This striking verse is nestled within a broader passage where the Apostle Paul imparts vital wisdom to believers, urging them to equip themselves with the "whole armor of God." This divine armament is essential for standing firm against the nefarious forces of evil that seek to disrupt our belief and faith . Let us delve deeper into the meaning behind these vital components: the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit. The Meaning Behind the Verse Helmet of Salvation: The helmet of salvation is far more than just a metaphorical piece of armor; it symbolizes the profound assurance and hope that stems from God's gift of salvation. When donned, this helmet offers spiritual protection from the relentless attacks and cunning schemes of the enemy. It serves as a shield for our minds, guarding us ag...

The Church of God

Separating From the world When delving into the profound teachings of the King James Version (KJV) regarding the critical theme of separating oneself from worldly influences in favor of a closer relationship with God, a few significant verses stand out prominently. These scriptures poignantly emphasize the importance of prioritizing divine allegiance over the fleeting desires of the world.  Key Verses to Consider 1 John 2:15-17:This powerful passage states: “Do not love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” Here, the scripture draws a clear and striking distinction between the enticements of worldly living and the will of God. The verse warns believers ...

Divine Protection: A Comprehensive Understanding

Protection plays a vital role in our lives, serving as the shield that guards us against harm and danger. It embodies the very essence of safeguarding individuals, preventing any form of threat from encroaching upon them. Speaking of divine protection, there is a profound sense of security that envelops those who align themselves with the will of God, as articulated in the sacred words of Psalm 91:1-7. This passage paints a vivid picture of a sanctuary provided by the Almighty, a place where faith and trust form an unshakeable fortress around the believer. 1. "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will abide under the shadow of the Almighty." This beautiful metaphor illustrates a deep intimacy with God, suggesting that by resting in His presence, we are enveloped by His protective shade, much like the comfort found under the wings of a mother bird. 2. Reaffirming this connection, the believer boldly declares, "I will say to the LORD, 'He is my refuge and...

The Seal of Salvation

The Holy Spirit: The Seal of Salvation Ephesians 1:13-14 (King James Version) In the profound teachings of the Apostle Paul found in Ephesians, we discover a remarkable truth: "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise." Here, Paul underscores the transformative power that comes from trusting in the Gospel—the message of salvation itself. When we truly believe, we receive an incredible gift: the sealing of the Holy Spirit, marking us as belonging to God and confirming our status as His children. Furthermore, in verse 14, Paul elaborates, stating, "Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory." This means that the Holy Spirit serves as a down payment, a glorious promise of the eternal inheritance that awaits us. It’s a reassurance that while we navigate the ...

Jesus is Lord : in Heaven and in His True Church

In the realm of the Christian faith, particularly within the church, the designations such as "fathers," "reverends," and "popes" are often viewed as fundamentally inconsequential. This notion emerges powerfully through the words of Jesus found in Matthew 23:9, where He clearly instructs His disciples: "And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven." This vital teaching stands as a part of a broader critique directed at the religious leaders of His time—a group that often sought to elevate themselves above the rest of society. Jesus’ directive not only emphasizes that all reverence and authority ought to be directed exclusively toward God—the true Father—but also serves as a crucial reminder about the danger of exalting any human figure to a divine status.  There are several key insights to be gleaned from Matthew 23:9, which can deepen our understanding of Jesus' message: 1. Recognition of One Heavenly Fat...

Being A True Follower of Jesus

When you claim to be a follower of Christ, one must ask the pivotal question: what are you truly dedicating your life to? Is your primary focus on amassing wealth, either for your own comfort or for others' benefit? Or do you find yourself laboring tirelessly as a subservient employee, potentially sacrificing your values and beliefs in the process? My friend, if your answer leans towards the affirmative on any of these inquiries, it’s a strong indication that you may not be the genuine Christian you profess to be. And if you happen to occupy the role of a pastor in a congregation, I must be blunt: you are misguiding others as a false prophet, failing to embody the true teachings and spirit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In fact, you set a poor example of what it means to live as a Christian. Remember, the essence of a Christian's vocation should be centered around the active service of God. The Bible, particularly the King James Version, richly illuminates the principle...

🎚️ A Definitive Examination of the Second Commandment

Exodus 20:4–6 (KJV)   > Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.   > Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;   > And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Blessed be the Word of the Lord.  The Commandment in Focus The Second Commandment is not ambiguous; it is a clear and uncompromising directive from God. It is structured in two distinct parts, each carrying the weight of a full commandment in itself. Whenever Scripture declares “Thou shalt not,” it signals a matter of utmost seriousness—an instruction that demands our full attention and obedience.   1. The Prohibition Against Images ...

Stephen's Death

Understanding Matthew 16:25 In the King James Version of the Bible, Matthew 16:25 beautifully encapsulates a powerful spiritual paradox: "For whoever seeks to save their life will lose it; but whoever loses their life for my sake will find it." It's a thought-provoking reminder that sometimes, in the quest for self-preservation and comfort, we might actually miss out on the deeper, more profound life that comes from surrendering ourselves for a greater purpose. The Heartwrenching Death of Stephen Now, if we shift gears a bit and dive into Acts 7:58-60, we find ourselves facing one of the most intense moments in the early Christian church – the execution of Stephen. Stephen wasn’t just your average believer; he was one of the very first deacons appointed to help with the needs of the early church. People recognized him for his incredible faith, wisdom, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in his life. Unfortunately, this great calling came at a high price. God's Hol...

Leccion Biblica: El Discipulado

Bible Study: Repentance

1- THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL IS BASED ON REPENTANCE Matthew 3:7,8/ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance. Luke 3:3/ And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Revelation 3:3/ Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 2- THE GOODNESS OF GOD LEADS US TO REPENTANCE. Romans 2:4/ Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 3- WHEN WE DO NOT REPENT, WE TREASURE WRATH AGAINST OURSELVES. Romans 2:5/ But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up u...
